   when primary care is needed.

   Provide timely mental health care, including
   same-day services, as needed.

   Timely care/same day access could include:
   accommodating a Veteran via their primary care
   provider, an alternate provider including walk-in
   clinic, overbook or emergency room, by telephone,
   telemedicine or other method on the same day as
   clinically appropriate. Additional examples include:
a pharmacist filling a Veteran’s prescription, providing health care guidance via nurse telephone, or utilizing other telehealth or tele-mental health resources, to address urgent Veteran health care needs.
