Vocational Rehabilitation Unit

The Vocational Rehabilitation Programs provide opportunities and assistance for Veterans with a goal of employment or education leading to employment.   Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) is a recovery-oriented, vocational model in the continuum of the Veterans Health Administration's work restoration services.  The CWT/Transitional Work Program located at the medical center or in the community helps Veteran participants  gain work experience and work hardening while preparing them for community employment.  CWT/Supported Employment is an evidence-based clinical model that helps individuals with serious mental illness or physical impairments co-occurring with mental illnesses engage in competitive employment in the community with long term follow up supports.   Vocational Assistance is designed to assist Veterans to realize skills, resources, attitudes and expectations needed to prepare for employment search and career development.
