Registering at www.myhealth.va.gov enables you to become an active partner in your health care.  Anyone can use the My HealtheVet web site to search for information regarding the Veterans Health Administration, to find health information and to register an account.  Also, current military service personnel and Veterans can use the military health history feature, and can access certain information from their electronic VA health records and VA benefits records.

A VA patient can also create an upgraded account to access more features of the program.   To create an upgraded account, the VA patient must visit their local VA medical center or VA outpatient clinic in person to complete the In-Person Authentication process.  The upgraded account allows the Veteran to view their appointment list, securely message their care team, view selected lab results, and receive Wellness reminders.

Anyone is able to:

  • Enter personal information and print out a wallet card for emergency contacts
  • Use tracking tools to record vital signs
  • List medications/herbals/supplements
  • List allergies
  • Record immunizations
  • Record health screen readings
  • Document insurance information
  • Create a personal calendar
  • Create food and activity journals

VA Patients are able to:

All of the above plus:

  • View VA prescription history
  • Refill VA medications
  • View scheduled VA appointments (need an upgraded account)
  • Securely e-mail message your VA care team (need an upgraded account)
  • View VA chemistry and hematology lab results (need an upgraded account)
  • Receive VA Wellness reminders (need an upgraded account)

Secure messaging is a means of “e-mail” communication between VA patients and their health care team via a safe, encrypted portal.  Currently, there are seven primary care teams at Lebanon VA utilizing the secure messaging feature with their Veterans at Lebanon VAMC.
